Astro-Metaphysical Love & Light

I have Jupiter in Purva Bhadrapada. Also known as the Nakshatra that takes us to spiritual enlightenment. Yet, it’s not as pure and righteous as it sounds. It’s actually a mix of good and evil.

Purva Bhadrapada: Former Happy Feet, Single Ray of Light (20 Aquarius- 3.20’ Pisces) The Scorching Pair Power to Raise the Evolutionary Level Desire: To Gain Radiance and Splendor of Spiritual Knowledge Result of Power: To Support the Entire World Aja Ekapada (Watcher of the Cosmic Pillars of the Universe) Man With Two Faces, Swords, Front Legs of Bed, Skull and Crossbones Fierce

Passive Human West Silver Male Lion Guru (Jupiter)

Purva Bhadrapada is the 3rd to last Nakshatra if you count Ashwini as the first.

It’s referred to as a single ray of light. Representing a sudden flash of insight that triggers a spiritual awakening.

Many people think of the spiritual journey as light and love. Yet, Purva Bhadrapada depicts this journey as one that takes you into darkness and despair.

Until the single ray of light reaches for you when you’re ready to completely give up. This is also referred to as the Dark Night of the Soul. Similar to The Hero’s Journey or even the 40 days of Jesus in the desert.

The man with two faces or the swords represents the splitting of the soul and the ego. This is a moment of total liberation and an opportunity to expand without judgment.

This is a painful and empty experience. Shown in the nickname for Purva Bhadrapada. The Scorching Pair literally refers to burning in Spiritual Fire. Like the shakti of the Power to Use Spiritual Fire. This is another way of saying spiritual awakening.

Interestingly enough, many films involving Purva Bhadrapada individuals have depicted characters burning up in flames during a spiritual or mystical experience. These characters are even depicted as exploring both their dark and light sides. A major theme for this Nakshatra.

It is the testing grounds for spiritual awakening. In this moment of darkness, the ego is completely separated from the soul. Making a person aware of their lower and higher nature.

Leaving them with a major choice. Allow the ego to be broken to truly be free to surrender to a higher path. Or liberate your inhibitions to freely expand the ego outside of ethical and moral limitations.

Either way, no consequences will come in this moment. It’ll only come after the test has been completed. This is a test of faith.

When all hope is stripped from you, you will want to give into the darkness and temptation of your lower nature. However, those who hold true to their faith will find enlightenment.

This is the Front Legs of the Death Bed or the Former Lucky Feet. Representing the path towards the spiritual. The Luck Feet are the blessed footsteps that guide you through the heavenly gate.

The Death Bed is the transition between the material and the spiritual. Purva Bhadrapada is the Front or the Former part. Meaning where the journey begins. It is the single ray of light or the flash of insight or the guiding light that initiates the transition.

I always talk about how Aquarius represents where the ego is broken. Well, this is where the weakening of ego takes place. At the transition from Aquarius to Pisces.

Most of Purva Bhadrapada falls in the sign of Aquarius. However, the last quarter of this Nakshatra falls in Pisces and this quarter is directly connected to spiritual mastery.

However, the last quarter is also the most intense. This is because Pisces deals with extremes. As one fish pulls towards the spiritual and the other fish anchors in physical. Yet, they always meet back at the same place.

This is why we can understand that the concept of good and evil are all the same in Purva Bhadrapada. It’s a choice. We have to accept the darkness to overcome it. Fearing it will only allow it to consume you. You obsess over what you fear. Explaining the insatiable desire for darkness and the freeing of our inhibitions.

Aja Ekapada is the deity of this Nakshatra. A fierce form of Shiva who stands at the cosmic pillars of the Universe. Also known as the heavenly gate or the place in between.

Yet, in the West, Aja Ekapada is depicted as a monstrous goat standing on one foot. Modernized as a satanic deity. Some even view him as a unicorn. Representing something that is desired but difficult to reach.

So, which is? Aja Ekapada stirs up controversy in spiritual knowledge. The beliefs about good and evil are two extremes of the same practice. This is why the Vedic depiction of Aja Ekapada is Shiva connected with two faces on either side of him. One face is diabolical and the other is pure.

Similar to how Purva Bhadrapada is neither good or bad. It is showing you both sides and giving you a choice. No judgment or duality is found during spiritual enlightenment.

You equally except both sides with love and avoid falling into extremes. This is why Purva Bhadrapada individuals seem to be rebellious and outspoken in nature. They are exploring both sides without judgment or without putting anything into a particular label.

Even the animal symbol of Purva Bhadrapada is a male lion. Showing the raw nature of human beings when inhibitions are freed. There is great courage and leadership found in this Nakshatra.

Yet, it can also become fanatical, outspoken, rebellious, and even ruthless in nature. These are individuals who don’t believe in sugar coating and who often go against the norms/ conditioning of society. In the worst case, it can show devious and unhinged behavior.

Black magicians and white magicians are both represented by this Nakshatra. It is one that unlocks philosophical and esoteric knowledge. A great asterism for mystics, philosophers, and humanitarians.
